Welcome Starved Rock Lodge & Conference Center Starved Rock State Park and Lodge is located less than two hours from Chicago. From the inagural Little Grassy Get Down to Haunted Hollow, we thank everyone who turned out to make these events possible. One of the most memorable moments was the evening bonfire with “s’mores.” The students truly enjoyed one another’s company, and there was a lot of laughter and noise that reflected them fully enjoying the “retreat” away from the city and their regular routines.Īnother special time each day was the large group meetings with singing and lessons from the Bible, which were followed by small group discussions about the theme - “GOD CAN.” Students were encouraged with reminders of how great God is, how much He wants to be known by them, and how much He can and wants to do in their lives. Welcome to Touch of Nature Outdoor Education Center We had an amazing fall packed full of more fun than we could have hoped for. Some of the fun included playing basketball, soccer, volleyball, and board games, as well as using a giant waterslide, four-way tug-of-war ropes, inflatable “bubble soccer” balls, and life-sized building blocks. It was a time of making new friends and building community as a middle school.Įach day included meals together, special large and small group building activities, organized games, and free time. ![]() The weekend was full of activities that allowed students and teachers to share life together. On Friday, September 1, 180 middle school students and staff excitedly loaded buses and traveled to the Vision Land Retreat Center in the beautiful hills of Namyangju- si.
